According to a study by Facebook IQ, 3 in every 10 online purchases made between January and May 2015 originated from mobile devices. If you think this is a surprising number, then know that the same study also projected that the number of online shoppers using mobile devices would increase 30% by 2016.
It will not take long for phones and tablets to become the most common ways to shop online, with the increasing number of people having smartphones and tablets, as well as greater Internet access. So, most likely, you may have questioned whether it is not time for your company to have a mobile app.
However, creating an app is not easy, as most companies do not have people in their ranks who can do that, and, most of times, hiring someone to do that can actually be expensive.
Ecwid, the number one ecommerce platform for anyone to easily sell their products anywhere, has launched ShopApp, a tool that lets merchants create and distribute their own branded and automated mobile app.
ShopApp is bundled into Ecwid’s main product, allowing Ecwid store owners to easily offer an ecommerce app for iOS and Android without having to code – this is done by using their Ecwid store as “template” for the app, which is produced without them having to do anything.
With ShopApp, clients can even choose how they want to checkout (with Apple Pay or Android Pay, for example), and store owners have access to other interesting mobile features such as push notifications and geography-based promotional items. ShopApp is fully integrated with its respective Ecwid store, so things like inventory, prices and product descriptions are fully synchronized.
Ecwid’s President Jim O’Hara had his saying on the merits of ShoppApp:
“With ShopApp, Ecwid is making a huge leap in how native ecommerce mobile apps are created and operate for smaller retailers globally. Similar to how the dramatic innovation in web development introduced by DIY sitebuilders like Wix, WordPress and Weebly democratized website creation, Ecwid now allows our merchants to create their own ecommerce apps instantly.”
