Public Cloud Is Becoming the Norm for Enterprises

cloud migration tipsThat time has gone when it was considered odd for enterprises to use cloud. It has become a norm to use cloud now and it is not just enterprises even small businesses are also widely using it. Cloud has turned into a reliable workhouse. It will certainly bring value to your business.

The Cloud Trend

The use of cloud is no longer a specialized technology, it has turned out to be a solid part of the IT arsenal for most of the enterprises and it has turned to be a core resource for all organizations. Cloud is not limited to storage anymore, there is a lot more to it. This is one of the reasons why organizations are using it. Tech news says that the use of the public cloud’s ratio is 2 to 3 percent for the workload of total enterprise.

The Transition to Public Cloud

It is amazing to know that enterprises are moving to public cloud for its security, controls and the regulatory rationales. There are even organizations which have started the transition through private cloud. Public cloud is being incorporated into the architecture of the enterprises. It further comes with SaaS and IaaS cloud which is also being incorporated into the organization. Even those enterprises which were reluctant to use the public resources are moving into the architecture.

The reason behind the usage of public cloud is the fact that the agility has increased and the cost has dropped. With the best security approaches and technologies, the security can be improved too. That means even if those enterprises that have security concerns will not have to worry about that.

Private cloud comes with a viable architectural option and it is even overused. Then why is that enterprises are moving to public cloud? This question is running in the minds of many individuals. Enterprises surely want to maintain and control their software and hardware and that’s why they used the private cloud for kicking the cloud to the road farther. The problem is they think they have the cloud but the real problem is that it is just like any other system which is lying around the data center. Furthermore, the cost of the private cloud is even more than that of the traditional system.

Is Private Cloud Going To Fade?

A good alternative to this would be public cloud. It has matured over the past few years. The fact is that it is more than ready for the prime time as compared to most of the private clouds. Furthermore, public cloud is quite cost-effective and it comes with the benefits of scalability and business agility. Companies like Google, Amazon web services and Microsoft took the lead for pushing organizations into the public cloud. One thing to keep in mind is that although public cloud is steaming up but it is not like the private cloud will be kicked to the curb. Private cloud is certainly going to be useful as it has its own good characteristics. However, you won’t have to be worry about the public cloud’s legitimacy and security. There are hybrid packages available for organizations that need both public and private implementations.

The Bottom Line

It is suspected that in the coming years, cloud implementation will be much about public cloud. Most of the applications of the organizations are going to be about public cloud. That means it is going to be a better architectural option. If you are still on private cloud, you don’t have to worry about it. It is always going to be a part of the market and it might also expand. Today, public cloud is coming with a fast momentum and enterprises need to understand how it can bring you benefit.
